Casa Ceylan was a passion project which began over two decades ago after the family decided to leave the hustle and bustle of London life in search of a sunnier and more relaxing place to call home. After setting their sights on Southern Spain, for its family-oriented laid back culture, ease of accessibility to the UK, and climate which guarantees almost 300 days of sunshine per year, the couple began their search. They stumbled across the beautiful gated community of Sotogrande and after a few wrong turns, ended up at an empty patch of land, with spectacular views of the Andalucian mountains, the Mediterranean Sea and endless greenery. They immediately knew this would be the place they would build their dream home
Over the course of four years, the family spent hours carefully curating every aspect of their home. They combined aspects of traditional Spanish architecture with influences from their Sri Lankan heritage. Casa Ceylan translates to ‘House of Ceylon’, which perfectly encapsulates the merging of two distant cultures, which both centre on hospitality, food and outdoor lifestyle. The villa features extensive terrace space, a large lawned garden and an infinity pool to create ample space for family and friends to make special memories together.
On an average evening, you would find them relaxing by the pool and enjoying the sunset with a glass of rioja or tucking into seafood paella and tapas with friends at the Port. Now that their children have all left the nest, the family have decided to open up their home to guests from all around the world, to share the joy and exquisite quality of life that Sotogrande has to offer.
